King Oak Estates is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
What we do
- Semantic, structured HTML with a logical heading order and landmarks.
- Keyboard operability with visible focus indicators, including the interactive site plan.
- Text and interface colour contrast that targets at least 4.5:1 for normal text.
- Descriptive alternative text on images and labels on every form field.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” system setting, so animations fall back to static.
- A responsive, mobile-first layout that supports zoom and reflow.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and this is the first release of the site. Some content (such as detailed floor plans) will be added over time, and we will apply the same standards as we do.
